The simplest way for classical music to have a healthy future is for us to give our young people the opportunity to experience it first-hand.  Going into our schools and communities is a very important part of the work we do, but it does not replace the excitement of seeing a real live opera or hearing a real symphony concert in a big theater for the first time.  During the 2013-2014 season, the Sacramento Opera and Sacramento Philharmonic brought thousands of school children to the Community Center Theater to attend our dress rehearsals for two Philharmonic concerts and our Il Trovatore Opera production. We are committed to bringing even more kids to our events as we move forward into the future.
